Torch Down Roofing

Torch Down

Torch down roofing is a newer style of roofing material that is typically used on flat roofs.  It comes in rolls and is sealed to the roof with a torch (open flame).  Torch down roofing (also known as bitumen roll roofing) is a very durable roll roofing system.

Torchdown roofing (sometimes called rubberized asphalt) is the most popular type of roofing for flat roofs.  The asphalt sheets are melted to the roof surface creating a strong water proof bond. Roofing contractors use this type of material on flat roofs because it offers protection from standing water and debris buildup on flat roofs.

Torch Down is typically a little bit more expensive than the traditional tar and gravel flat roof system but it can provide better protection.  Torchdown is made out of modified bitumen and resins.  This combination of materials helps protect your home from standing water and can last a long time in powerful UV rays.  It is very strong and resistant to punctures from falling debris and is fairly easy to maintain.
